Striper Fishing Lures-Slab Spoon Colors
Chartreuse is the king’s color of Slab Spoon Lures! Most freshwater Striper Lures will be chartreuse or green. Why is chartreuse such a good color for Striped Bass Lures? Most of the lakes that hold Hybrid Striper, White Bass, and Striper in the southwest have stained water. The colors chartreuse shows up very well in dirty water and Striper can find the lure easier! We like to fish natural colors in the very clear water and bright chartreuse when the water is stained and murky. If the sun is out we like to use chrome and on cloudy days chartreuse will show up better for Striper.

Some lure manufacturers will give you the best of both worlds with a chartreuse base color and flashy silver holographic decal. The long butter knife shape slab will spin to the left and right on the fall and yo-yo on the retrieve. A more round slab spoon with a flat side will fall very slow and wobble on the fall! Striper like a slow and natural fall rate and a tight wobble on the retrieve.
