Moe’s Tackle Shop began with a love of fishing and an interest in making lures that anglers could put to work. Mike “Moe” Oser built the business around fishing tackle, with a particular interest in freshwater striped bass and the lures used to catch them.

Lure sales have ended, but the website continues as a place to share practical fishing knowledge, explain lure techniques, and help anglers find fishing guides on Lake Texoma and Lake Tawakoni.

Why the Lure Business Closed

After experiencing lead poisoning, Mike sold the lure business in 2016. That ended the tackle-selling chapter of Moe’s Tackle Shop.

Mike kept the website so the fishing information could remain available. Today, its focus is on helping anglers understand their lure choices and get more out of their time on the water.

Back Home in Oregon

Mike grew up in Stayton, Oregon, near the North Santiam River. After spending years in Texas, he returned to Oregon in 2022.

These days, he spends much of his fishing time with a fly rod and enjoys floating the North Santiam in his raft. He also operates North Santiam River Shuttles, helping anglers and boaters move their vehicles between river access points.

Texas striper fishing and Oregon river fishing are different pursuits, but both remain part of his connection to the water.
